In the past few days I have seen a lot of debate over the question: can’t we
just play defense in the war on terror? And the answer is, unfortunately, “No!” The motive behind the current wave of terrorism is
Islamic Fundamentalism and we will not be able to change the radical wish of converting you to Islam or killing you by just hoping they will leave us alone. Especially since they have a ‘holy right’ for doing this and don’t mind dying in the process... I think our governments should be focusing on two things: On a strategic level, convincing the world (and especially the Europeans) that joint and international action against terrorist organizations and state sponsors of terror is vital for success and pressuring the majority of
moderate Muslims into speaking out! On a tactical level, they should be focusing on getting these terrorists before they are sent on their missions. It's a lengthy process that involves identifying the potential bomber, recruiting him, indoctrinating him, training him, conducting pre-attack surveillance, supplying him with explosives, and then sending him to the target. Quite a chain, which our human intelligence teams should be focusing on. And for us in the homeland, we must be patient, we must not fall to the
terrorizing messages these terror regimes are sending us through the media and by creating all these recent 'airport scares'. And not less important, we must be proactive and take those few steps that will keep us prepared - just in case. Good source for this
